So we now get to choose an image to represent ourselves... but what to choose. Our real self, a picture of our 'forum name', a random pic, our favorite album cover, or in my case my particularly grumpy cat Bentley positioned between my speakers giving me the 'turn the fu**ing music down look' - views?

Let's see who is brave enough to use their own pic! :-)

Probably gonna change it in a while. For the moment my speakers do the job. Like it though, makes it a bit more personal (not for me with my speakers......
)

I spent about 15 mins looking through all my own photos - fat, geeky looking, lopsided, drunk etc... Decided the cat was the least worst option - I like cats so at least it represents one aspect of my personality!

I chose a photo to reflect my dogged determination. A picture of my Yorkie!

Tried to upload a pic from my desktop still loading ,how long does it take?

Hi Blueknowz,
As a member of the Social Strata team I'm paying pretty close attention to issues/questions as we get Naim set up on our new platform; is the image you were trying to load super large? If you have more trouble, could you post your issue at help.socialstrata.com? Look for the big cross in the upper right corner and click!
We created the original Eve Community platform (Naim's "old" forums)--you're simply using a much more modernized and capable platform of ours, and I know it takes some getting used to the changes. Thanks for rolling with it and keeping an open mind; there are more improvements to come, for sure. As everything gets settled down and you learn the new User Interface, it'll be easy as pie. Cheers!

I'm not sure you need to be brave to use a picture of yourself. Maybe you can have a shot of you and a friend to add a little potential uncertainty. It's me on the right.

IMHO Member icons are a good thing - it helps to see replies from the same person in a thread and breaks up the text. Seen some nice ones here already ! Gonna try the image attachment here.

Went for the obvious for starters, but may change to something more real and personal later.
Am going to ask the Mrs. to take some pics of me listening to my Naim system...in the dark.

This is Duchess my boxer in my teens, she was my best friend and boy did she have a guilty look at times, and personality plus. More than a few times she got away from me and I swear she turned into a greyhound. Especially the few times she got on a beach, she got wildly excited about the smells and texture of hard sand and took off, came back at full throttle in the other direction, breathtaking performance. Not a water dog, she barked and got angry when I went in the water, she didn't like the little waves getting her white paws wet.
I take care of my 89 yo parents and her picture is on the fridge. Even now 40 years on we can still tell stories about her and laugh.

Mine is of a Dansette Bermuda. Sadly not my very own one, bought second hand at the Barras for passing my entrance exam to Allan Glen's School in Glasgow. On this I heard Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Mountain, Santana and many others for the first time. It also provided the accompaniment to my first serious snogging and attempts to get to grips with a young lady's undergarments.
A fond memory.

In order, these would be of most interest to me:
1) Location
2) System
3) Occupation
Avatars seem to be a silly distraction. Maybe because I am from the US the location of the members is fun for me since most members seem to be from Europe.
