Very nice 2-LP Scott compilation, have been looking for this one in good nick for a while.

Mint ABC Records US first press - just £6! Produced, arranged and written entirely by Jimmy Webb and played by the Wrecking Crew, it's a steal.

The famous JD bootleg "Warsaw". This is the first US pressing, complete with the Peel sessions EP. Absolutely mint.

This was the purchase I was most pleased with - a 1977 Japanese 2-LP compilation of Bond themes and incidentals (from "Dr. No" through to "The Spy Who Loved Me"). Great sleeve, with loads of pics inside the gatefold, and in absolutely immaculate condition too.

Hi K, you have just restored my faith in 'crate digging, what a wounderful haul cannot believe you found 'gold' at the right price in such a hipster capital as Brighton, bet the RCM is working overtime  nice one.

Fantastic - isn't it? Have the same...

Indeed Adam, am looking forward to listening to it. There was another "Superpak" 2-LP compilation, of music from the later Bonds (below) in the shop, but I couldn't afford it.

Triple LP (purple vinyl) plus DVD - all for just £16 from The River. Bargain!

The Gaslight Anthem - The 59 Sound. Great album which hopefully sounds better on vinyl than on CD.

Orderd a lot of last friday and looking forward to deliver the next days, especially this one:

Heard the original MFSL-Vinyl on Harbeth 40.2 at Highend 2016 in Munic and directly felt in love with this record.

Now I'm curious about what my Colibri can do to this re-release...

Posted on: 28 July 2016 by kuma

It's a cheap Jazz Track reissue so I am not expecting much soundwise.

Just found this  new stock copy at my usual shop, La Bottega Discantica  in Milan

But you got Miles Davis, some French writing, and a French woman in Black and White with a haughty look on her face...who cares how it will sound?

True.

I had a hankering for the title tune Générique.

I can't find who pressed this reissue but there is a DMM sticker on the back. At least It is flat and quiet, but I know it's missing a lot of instrumental colours. That said,  this is a tune put me in a terrible melancholia.

Looking at the line up, I didn't realise Pierre Michelot was on the bass. ( a terrific French bass player who was on Dextor Gordon's 'Our Man in Paris' )
