The Commodores, Love Songs, yesterday from eBay because it's brilliant and my copy is a little noisy

Posted on: 04 September 2016 by kuma

Released last year from Fantasy Record and there aren't much production info online, so I am not expecting a great sound but my original copy is noisy so I decided to pony up for this.  Amadeus is one of my all time favourite film and Marriner's Requiem is powerful yet poignant. This particular performance does not need visual to communicate. Surprisingly there are A list soloists playing ( Anne Queffelek, Imogen Copper , Felicity Lott, Moravec, etc.. ) show director Milos Forman's commitment to serve the music first. As he talks about in 'The Making of Amadeus',  the music was the leading character of the film.

William Bell, this is where I live, sounds fantastic, lovely 60's 70's soul music.

ISAAC HAYES Hot Buttered Soul (1969 UK first press 4-track stereo LP on the yellow Stax label.

4-LP box set. The original CD issue of this, a decade ago, was a victim of the "loudness wars" and was so awful-sounding it made Mothership sound like a Music Matters Blue note issue. It has been completely redone for 2016, so here's hoping it will sound better.

Double album. All-analogue, apparently.

This new 2016 version is supposed to be a lot better than the 2012 version (with red lettering) so I thought I would give it a go:

How is the pressing? My local store pulled this item out of sale since they had received so many returns due to bad quality so I did not get the copy I went for.
