What was the last vinyl you bought?
Posted by: apye! on 18 January 2011
Arrived today in the post:
Another £2.50 job. UK first press mono, no less. A bit dirty but came up a treat after a blast in the RCM.
Pink Floyd - Meddle - 2016 Bernie Grundman remaster. Doesn't come near the performance of MFSL vinyl. MFSL has a huge amounts of tight, spacious bass, sweeter highs, generally more open and more life to it. MFSL just sounds like a better source was used.
Not sure whether to buy any of the other 2016 floyd now, as there are loads of vinyl coming out right now.
Sleaford Mods - TCR EP
Ben Webster Meets Oscar Peterson
Jazz at 33 1/3 series.
Anna Netrebko: Verismo
Three by Harnoncourt: Mozart: Requiem, Beethoven: Symphonies Nos. 4 & 5 and Last Mozart Symphonies

Classic K. Its one of the records that started in all for me and I suspect a lot of other people on this forum. Brilliant comp and an amazing showcase of artist.....G
Mickey Jupp - blue vinyl, from 1978.

Horace Silver Quintet Blue Note 5058
This one did not make it to the MM roster but it's a fine mid 50s recording with Mobley, Watkins Dorham and Blakey. It's a second Silver album under Blue Note.
Bernie Grundman's digital remaster.
and...
Both from a nice record store in West Chester, PA, USA.
Waiting on these two from Music Matters. Should be here sometime next week....
My copies are also on their way. A friend loaned me a MM45 of Sextet, so would be interesting to hear if MM could improve the sound of piano with the 33 remaster. ( piano on this record is so annoyingly muffled and distant completely ruining the intro of 'Falling in Love with Love' ! )
I added Jazz Messenger Live at Cafe Behemia Vol. 1 MM45. This was one of the titles I was hoping for them to redo in 33. Alas, they didn't. So bit the bullet ordered it in spite it's a dreaded 45. :/
I love the feeling of a live session with these legends. It's kind of strange when Blakey introduces Mobley as 'a new star on horizon'!

The Morcheeba album cover is just sick, love it. Listened to first song and ordered the vinyl.
