I am waiting for their latest release of Rach 2 & Prok 2 which is just excellent.
Let me know the sound quality of Mariinsky pressing, please?
Gillian Welch. The Harrow and the Harvest. Backordered for months.
2017 US edition

For the Love of Brahms:
Bell/Isserlis/Denk will make an interesting trio. Surprising to find out it was offered in vinyl, too.
2017 Eu edition, same comment as above
!977 Italian edition at a local store, still sealed

Until today this was the only gap in my collection of Aimee Mann albums, but when I saw it on vinyl in my local Naim dealer's shop at a super bargain price the gap was filled.
Seven-LP box set of Fagen material at a decent price. I have Nightfly and Kamakiriad on vinyl, but not the others (including the raritities disc) so it was a bit of a no-brainer really:

The Beatles' Christmas records box set, direct from PledgeMusic...
Otis Redding - all seven Stax/Volt albums in one box set. And in mono, to boot!
Fela Kuti Box Set 4 - For this fourth instalment in the series, the albums are chosen by Erykah Badu. Seven LPs and just 14 tracks!
Three LPs I happily unwrapped today. All 2017 albums.
Trio Da Kali and the Kronos Quartet.
Mali meets classical in an interesting blend of influences.
The LP comes with the now ubiquitous 'free' dpwnload, but in this case a proper bit-rate, not the 25bps excuse it normally is. But 1.5Gb must mean that it is even more than CD; intriguing.
Melanie de Biasio, "Blackened Cities", one-sided vinyl, from St Nick.
Following a visit to HMV armed with Christmas vouchers I bought Misplaced Childhood, 2017 remaster. Superbly quiet bit of vinyl, best in ages. One of Marillion’s better albums too.
Also Gary Moore Blues and Beyond. A blind buy to be listened to later. Four albums and lovely packaging though.

The Cadillac Three - Legacy
I saw them in November and so couldn't resist the vinyl at sale price. Bargain.

Wow. Where was that?
Well, not such a cheap Xmas for me after I bought this box set.
However, the good news is that (so far) it sounds great. Last night I listened to The Nightfly and Kamakiriad, the former an immaculate pressing and the latter only slightly less good (a smidge less flat but still excellent). The sound is superb. I have a couple of originals of The Nightfly and this may well be as good, or even better. It has been a while since I played them, but I'd be very happy with this either way. I don't have an original of Kamakiriad, but again the sound is top notch.
The outer sleeve artwork looks really good, and you even get the printed inners too. Only slight downer is that Morph The Cat, while on 2LPs, is not the original gatefold. But, Sunken Condos is now on black vinyl, which should bode well for SQ. All in all, very happy with this set - and something of a re-affirmation that modern vinyl can still be well pressed, presented and sound awesome to boot.
So now dear Donald and Rhino, could we have a Steely Dan box set next xmas?
