What was the last vinyl you bought?

As the original post is no more I thought I would start a new one.

Arrived today in the post:

The vinyl edition is of their first night at Felt Forum but there is a 6 CD box set of all 4 nights. There are also CD issues of other shows in 1970 and some say that Live in Detroit is the best. Anyway, for vinyl junkies like us I can heartily recommend the Felt Forum LP.

What part of the country do you live in?

 Never mind we can use the forum to share our vinyl 60s / 70s addiction  . By the way don't forget 'The Boys' are on BBC 2 tonight  PS ordered the Felt Forum vinyl.

Take Care Graham.

I already have the Sky box primed to record. I remember watching the first TV broadcast on Boxing Day 1967. At that time our TV was B&W. Now we can watch it in fine HD and colour. I remember it was panned by the critics at the time but I enjoyed it. I wonder if they'll ever release the Let It Be film. A great documentary of the group imploding. Super music.

A live recording can't get much better than this.

Much like my late discovery of Interpol earlier this year, it seems Godspeed You! Black Emperor has grabbed my interest as well...

I bought this on CD a few months ago and it is one of the best recorded CD's I own and apparently the vinyl is supposed to sound even better which I find hard to believe, anyway I gave in at the weekend, now I just need to find time to sit down and enjoy -

I waited till I could sample most of tunes and am glad to find he's back on the funky groove.

The batting average is way better on this than his last Morph the Cat which I liked only one tune out of the whole album.

Kuma, that's a lovely cover on the new DF album.  Must order it...

I was in town on Tuesday and while walking past the local hospice charity shop I noticed a box being unloaded from a van full of LPs.  I could just spy the top of this one:

How could I resist?  It looked hardly played at all.  There were a whole bunch of Miles Davis albums in there, including some early US Prestige MDQ LPs and a nice early UK copy of this...

I left with about 20 LPs under my arm.

Richard,

A very nice result.

What were the others?

Stu.

Stu, there was this one; An original US issue that was unscratched but looked rather played - luckily has cleaned up very nicely and sounds great;

Then this one - again, a nice US issue;

A bunch of Modern Jazz Quartet LPs on Prestige, such as this;

This nice double album from the early '70s;

Some Mulligan/Baker and Chet Baker LPs, Bobby Hutcherson's Total Eclipse on Blue Note, and then some early EMI/Columbia LPs - Edwin Fischer and Gieseking's Beethoven Sonatas and what looks to be an unplayed original set of the Von Karajan/Callas Madam Butterfly on HMV Columbia, plus a few others I've missed. Nice...

Richard,

Right place at the right time works every time.

Nice selection.
