I bought this 1980 release s/h on vinyl this weekend, and the SQ is very good (Columbia PC 31170). Even the earlier songs are very well recorded. I'm looking for their first LP "Child Is Farther to the Man", anyone familiar with the SQ on that one? I think it's going to be a tough find.

A lesson for me here, after ordering this album having realised it was only on cassette at chez bigh, I was checking out some thing else in the "Cs" and hey presto a brand new 180 gm version is filed there, I had failed to catalogue in MuCollector. Not a huge outlay fortunately.
A truly eclectic mix of vinyl today from the market.
All minty 1st presses. £16 for Zappa with the two Ella LPs thrown in. I'd been thinking of buying the 45rpm vinyl of 'Ella and Louis' but this HMV 1st press is perfect.
On the back of being impressed with this Blue Note reissue from Heavenly Sweetness I ordered four more which arrived today. £15.30 each plus £3 P&P from MDT.
Flea market purchase £15. Mint 1970 German Decca Red label
Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet "RSVP" Cover.
Steve well done on the Zappa.+ buy 1 get two free offer. I'v been looking for a good copy for ages. Will be interested in what you think regard SQ & recording, enjoy.

Of the Zappa LP? Pretty good. I've only played the first disc. It's not a single concert and I believe there were some studio overdubs. I found the SQ of side two was better than side one.
The Ella and Louis album is superb SQ. I was really lucky to find a first press from 1956, a great vintage, in such excellent condition.
I'm just enjoying Grant Green's Matador at the moment.
Good find with the Stones LP.
