UnitiQute connecting to existing HI Fi System
Posted by: Richard777 on 16 April 2013
Hi I am thinking of buying a UnitiQute. What I need to know is can i connect it to my existing integrated Amp via the preamp out into an Aux connection?
Thanks for that. I was wondering if that would be the case. It shouldn't be too difficult to manager that.
The alternative is to use the digital-out into a quality DAC of your choice, connected to your integrated.

No it's not.
I was told to have the volume of the Qute to maximum level (100), the volume of your integrate being to 0.
From there you will controle the volume on your integrate.
Just know that if the Qute and your and integrate are really close to each other, your remote will move both volume, Qute and pre!
Be also careful not to have both pot to high level!

Hi everyone, thanks for the advice. I'll try that with the volume controls. In any event if it is too difficult I have a separate DAC already and that sounds like a good solution.

You can. On the Qute's menu system, set the Loudspeakers setting to None. You then have the option of using the Qute's digital out into a different DAC and then on into your pre-amp, or the analogue out into a suitable input on your pre-amp. I have my Qute volume set at around 60 as this seems to roughly match the level of my other source, but as Jobseeker says, with a Qute and a Naim pre-amp, the remote control will alter the volume setting on both. I don't think there's a fix for this (yet?) - other than to manually set the volume.
