Sinopoli Mahler remasters?

I see that DG/ Eloquence have a symphonies box they say is newly remastered. I'm concerned with orchestral balance and I hope that the music isn't far out front and hot.

Sigmund, you mean the 2010 issue? I wouldn't go for the eloquence set; they've tried to squeeze all the music on 12 discs (as opposed to the earlier 15) which means split symphonies on all discs. I haven't heard the remastering, but the box says AMSI (ambient surround imaging), normally used to convert stereo into surround sound, and not universally liked for its artificiality.
