So who do you think is going to be the 3rd team to keep Reading & QPR company in the championship next season ??

A month ago we hit the magic 40 points and i thought we were safe, now i aint so sure. Our display against reading yesterday was a disgrace and we boooooood them off. Berbatov is now called Princess and i cannot post what Ruiz is called as Richard would delete it.

Any views on the matter!!

Why the negativity around Saunders FatCat? His record is not quite as it seems. As a coach he was very well respected. At Wrexham he was allowed to bankroll debt onto the club which was a huge negative for us but did eventually lead to fan ownership. That said, all the debt would have been far worse received had he not built a decent team and he did at least give us the first chance to watch actual football in about 5 years. The team he left us with was superb and would have graced the football league were we not pray to the vagaries of being a non-league club. At Doncaster he took them down but then few appointments at struggling clubs in mid/term have ever produced amazing turnarounds. The team he then built is the team that was slowly rising to the top of league 1 before he was tempted by the Wolves job. He had connections with Morgan through Wrexham and, again, I don't think anyone could have kept them up. Instead of being allowed to do exactly what he'd done at Doncaster he then fell victim to the age old problem of chairman panicking when the abuse is suddenly directed at them and wanting a buffer zone. Not saying he's the greatest thing since sliced bread but he has some tactical nouse and his teams play football people want to watch. Tbh the whole EPL is tedious for most ppl who watch actual football week in week out somewhere other than in front of a TV. It is hideously uncompetitive at the top and the bottom is increasingly like the bottom of L2 where ppl talk about the standard of the league fellow having improved but really all that's happened is that bad teams have no escape route down and they congeal. The EPL has also destroyed the game nationally by skewing the amount of money for the grass roots game away from where it's needed. This we now have the unedifying spectacle that the only way out of non-league is to buy your way out with a sugar daddy or huge debt. Defending at Championship level has long been far superior to that of the EPL where marauding full backs are expected to play their part in the "entertainment" and even we wonder why these people can't quite cut it at international level! The occasional flash of skill can be accelerating but it's very telling that the best football this season has been played by Everton, Liverpool and Swansea. Teams with a team ethic.

Well we were up for 7 trophies, won one of them, so all in all...

I am convinced that RDM would have done better.

Certainly would have got second place. Wouldn't have lost to Swansea for sure.

Probably wouldn't have won the Europeless League though - that is pure Rafa territory

Never mind Jose's coming home John Terry's leaving it Mikel won't get to play so many games Torres has found some form so we can sell him And I suspect there is a reasonable list of replacements Wonder if RDM and Butch would come back as assistants...?

Just got back from Swansea. If anyone wanted to watch our game on match of the day last nite i think they switched it, and it was on Crime stoppers. Swansea outplayed & outclassed us and had some 80% possesion. THEY WERE ROBBED of 3 points.

As for bloody Berbatov(sorry Princess) i hope we offload the lazy sod this summer, the guy hardly broke sweat.

Mista, did see the game on MOTD and when Jol said it was "an ugly win" I thoufht; "that's the understatement of the millenium".

Berbatov has always been a lazy sod, as both Fergie and the Spuds found out.

Well, while I was right about FFC surviving I was way off in predicting Norwich would get caught. What a couple of great results? My apologies to any Canaries fans.

I'd like to see a BD victory but I think Bayern's defence is too strong so I'm going to go 2-0 Bayern.

Nice job Kevin. I assume you got a large bet down in time? ;-)

Congrats to Bayern on a hard fought victory -- they deserve the championship IMO.

Still, was a bit surprised that Dante wasn't tossed!  Must have brought back some memories for Man U fans...

A tight game and on first half display I thought BD shaded it.  The foul that gave BD their penalty would have been a yellow card if it had occurred outside the area but on the whole I thought the ref had a good game, letting it flow despite some robust challenges.  Still, Bayern had that extra quality in front of goal and that's what wins games.

I live in dortmund, oh, it's so hard, but next year we will come back!!!!!!

Wandering round Covent Garden on Saturday, I got to thinking "...The last time this many Germans flew over to London..." oh never mind.

Posted on: 26 May 2013 by mista h

Both teams were lucky not to end the game with 10 men.    Rubbery whacks a guy round the face in the 1st half, and in the 2nd half guy gets his ankle stamped on whilst on the deck. Ref missed both fouls, and both should have walked.
