Nearing the Mountaintop. Path forward from here?

Posted by: Skip on 06 May 2013

My system consists of the following, and I am very happy with it.  It is not the textbook Naim system but it does everything I need.   It is not the top of the Naim mountain, but I can see it from here.

Verdier Platine Granito.  Morch DP6.  Lyra Helikon

AHT non-Signature Phono stage (predecessor of the Lloyd Walker Phono).

CDS2 with 555PS non-DR.

NAC 552 non-DR.

NAP 300.

Merlin VSM Speakers with Super BAM module.

Possibilities:

a) Superline stand alone.  Possible cartridge upgrade.

b) Supercap for Superline.  non-DR.

c) NAP 500.  ex dem.

d) Proac D40R.

e) DR everything.

I might do a CD555 down the road, but it is not on my list now.

I could do one of the above.  I might stretch to do two of the above.    Please help me prioritize.

IMO Superline 500 You will do the DR upgrade anyway, so if you have the money now, buy boxes. You will do the DR later when units will be due for a recap.
