Excellent victory today of Mark Cavendish.Cipollini's dignified heir.Really impressive strenght.Ad maiora!
Still the dominant sprinter. Impressive.
As for the GC, is Nibali fit after his fall? Some mention of a knee problem.
I'm not sure Wiggins can limit his mountain top losses if not. We shall see.

Nibali seems to be ok,as he said he can't wait the Alps stages in reason to get a better placings for him:he will attack from today.Nice faiplay yesterday,as everydody waited for Wiggins after his fall.
Wiggins has lost over a minute today with a downhill crash in the rain. The man trains on the hills I do-they are always wet so he should have been fine!

Cavendish may have been able to compete with Cipo on the road, but when it comes to showmanship. nobody could compete with Cipo.
i took this photo at the 2009 Giro. He turned up in racing gear, five years after he retired for no other reason, (as far as I can tell) than to have his photo taken.

I was a bit disappointed at his reaction after falling. He probably did the sensible thing in making sure he didn't fall off again, but he came across as a bit of a wuss.
Good time trial today for Wiggins (despite the puncture) but his downhill effort yesterday was pretty feeble.

Zzzzzzzz today.They deserve it..
4th victory.Cavendish,the new Ferrari at Giro.Spectacular.

Great victory by Nibali and well deserved, he's head and shoulders above the others in the race. He hardly had to break a sweat, although with the weather conditions that's not surprising.
I like the way he conducts himself, no throwing tantrums or bikes. Just calmly gets on with the job.

Yes, he seems a humble guy and a class act. I am a bit sorry he's not doing the tour, but I think a Vuelta/Giro double is on the cards.
Unbelievable images from yesterday...
Kudos to Cavendish for not doing a Cipo and climbing off as soon as the road went uphill or the sun disappeared (was there any sun at this year's Giro?). He's proper hard. He also gets pitiable coverage in the UK press for his achievements, on the continent he's a demi-god.

Well naturally. He doesn't kick a ball for a living.
Agreed Fatcat,a deserved victory.

Amazing how he has improved since joining Astana. Vino's coaching is working wonders - Nibbles can now climb at the limit with his mouth closed!
Froome impressive yesterday at Dauphine. Maybe Contador is not just keeping his powder dry after all.
