Problems with UnitiServe

Posted by: ChrisBerlin on 14 May 2013

Hi guys,

I have got a UnitiServe with 2 TB. After using it for about 3 months without any Problems now I am not able to get the System Status. I have tried it with the Desktop Client and with the browser Interface. Desktop Client shows the error "Unable to retrieve System Status. The Server did not respond in time, or is unavailable". The browser Interface goes into the main menu after clicking the System Status button.

I have tried it after rebooting the router and after rebooting the UnitiServe - but no success.

All the other functions of the Desktop Client and the browser Interface as well as the Streaming from the UnitiServe work well.

Do you have any idea?

Thanks for help!

I have the same problem with 1.6, I asked Naim and they know about it and it should be fixed in the 1.7 firmware.

Did you have this Problem from the beginning? I am shure that this Problem occured after using the US for a period of about 2 month. At the beginning of usage it was no Problem to get the System Status.

No I just found out one day that I got the same error message. I am not sure wich change caused it. Maybe changing from xp to win 7, or the upgrade from 1.6 to 1.6 B, or a new router.

I would not worry about it of course it is anoying but it is not a sign of a deeper fault in the system.

Hi folks, I have had the same problem too, for about aYeager, although it hasn't really bothered me, everything else works fine.  I think I read somewhere that if there is a share ( or a store, can't remember which) which was previously set up, but now is off line, then the system status screen gets tripped up.

Cant remember where I read this, it may even have been the user manual.

Hopefully Phil will be along soon !!!!

Good luck, Paul

I found the reply on this from Phil. Since 1.7 is a few weeks from release I would not worry about it.

Hi Claus,

I’m told that it’s a known issue with the responses from some routers that should be fixed in the 1.7 release of software so at this time I wouldn’t worry about it…

Cheers

Phil

Anyone know whether this firmware update (1.7) has been released, and how to apply it?

Am I right that this firmware is now available? If so, does anyone know if it has fixed the problem mentioned at the start of this thread?
