Anyone else enjoying the 2013 remaster of Wings Over America

Downloaded 24/96 version from HD-Tracks (15% off at the moment) and enjoying it now.
Very rich sound, and much improved compared to earlier CD versions (or even the version I remember playing on my old Sansui SR222 with Ortofon VMS-20E into my old JVC JAS-11 amp way back 'in the day'.
Anyone else enjoying this nostalgic revival?
I thought about this but then I decided that the 80's re-issue LP will have to do for the time being. I still listen to this a couple of times of a year so I might change my mind, let's see in the future. Not the first priority though ...

Sorry I thought the original release was poor. I can't see how this could be improved.
Hi GeeJay,
take it for what it's worth but I HIGHLY recommend you upgrade your speakers. As a previous owner of 804's and a huge Naimophile, I couldn't believe how much those speakers where messing up the sound. They are too bright IMHO and not as transparent, resonant, and dynamic as much else out there. You have an incredible system, and while it doesn't affect me at all, I thought I'd share as an audiophile buddy - you are not hearing all that your system can offer. Have you auditioned other speakers? Cheers
I just picked up the vinyl yesterday... have listened to 4 sides and so far so good... although I need for the spouse to leave the house so I can play it loud to know for certain :-)
I thought the original release was poor in terms of its audiophile qualities. I played this album a lot during my student days on a Sony TC122 cassette recorder through a meagre amplifier and speakers. I have been listening to the 24/96 version this evening and while it's better than my cassette listening, it's hardly a 'state of the art' live recording. I still love the album though!
@Hot Rats,
I'm not sure what to expect as far as "audiophile qualities" from a live recording made at a variety of arenas during the mid-70s. I think that concert mixing at that time was always variable and highly dependent on the venue acoustics. I listened to WOA originally on 8-track on a car stereo during high school. It sounded fine for the time and captured the energy of the performances. I thought it was very exciting to hear Paul's Beatles studio songs performed live.
Does the remaster dress them up into something they are not, or is that the intention? I doubt it.
My thought is that WOA was an odd choice at this point in Macca's remaster hierarchy. He has many more critically important LPs that could have been selected for remastering before WOA.
