Naim's 40th birthday. Unofficial...

So, 30 tickets allocated to the masses. Right! It's the olympics all over again. I wonder whose tickets are "priority"?

Miserable old farmers with entry level DACs and tiny power-amplifiers, I don't think!

Seems to be on a first-come-first-served basis so if you want a ticket get in there quick.

I was on the phone 10mins after Mr Stephenson posted the invitation, no inquisition; no inventory of kit owned just a very pleasant conversation with Jess as is normal whenever I contact Naim and whomever I speak to.

Why the sour grapes? The invitation was made to all and is hardly unreasonably priced – get in there, hope to see some of you there.

Sounds like a great event. Unfortunately the timing prevents me to participate (previous engagement for that day). £50 for 8 bands and food can be considered very reasonable and 30 tickets reserved for forum members is a nice gesture IMHO.

No sour grapes, Peter. Just tongue-in-cheek talk. I  am sure you'll have a great time and so will others.

Have fun Peter!  If Naim doesn't mind, would be great if you could bring a camera and post some pics!

Ok Tony, sorry if I miss-understood your intentions.

Hi Hook

Being a bit of an old codger I still use a Hasselblad, which is a bit cumbersome for that kind of use. I’ll see what I can do, maybe borrow something and see if using it is appropriate.

Seems that the actual date is today. Congratulations are in order — good luck for the next 40 years. "On June 4th 1973, the late Julian Vereker MBE registered his new company ‘Naim Audio’ with business partner Shirley Clarke. His only ambition was to bring the thrill of live music into the home…"

For those who are interested: "Spire FM will be broadcasting live from Naim headquarters in Salisbury with interviews from Naim staff inbetween their normal programme material. On Thursday 6th June 2013 between 10am and 2pm (BST)."

If I recall correctly the anniversary party will be on coming Sunday. Those of you who are participating please remember to report back — with pictures if possible/allowed
