Ford Mondeo for £ 16k !!

Just heard a radio ad. for the (supposedly) new Ford Mondeo where 1.6 petrol model starts at £16k ! Without the "prestige" of the German marques and reliability of the Japanese who could be so stupid to buy a new Ford ?

Honda to recall over 380,000 cars in Japan:

Toyota recalls 242,000 Prius cars

BMW recalls 220,000 vehicles in Takata airbag issue

Can't remember last time Ford did a recall. They must be doing something right!

Ford's reputation really diminished for a while (I had a Ford Probe back in the mid 90s and that car was rubbish), but they have really stepped up their game in recent years. My wife was very tempted to buy a Ford Taurus SHO. In the end we got a Subaru STi, but came close to getting a Ford.
