HDX digi out vs. UnitServe digi out ?

Did one bench the Naim server line with digital out connected to a DAC?
I had a chat with my dealer, he told me that HDX sounds (better power, isolation etc)- but is the sound so much better to justify the price gap?

From previous discussions the HDX digital out should be better than the other servers and the Userve. How much is not clear. I think the issues if you have a dac and is thinking about a server, is if you want a Userve with no internal backup or one of the servers with an internal backup disk, and a more standard Naim power supply instead of an external supply used on Userve.
I am convinced that you get a lot out of the ns01 in terms of features and price, but of course you have an dac in the unit you are not going to use.

The then described results might be different when using the US with a linear third party PSU as reported here by Jan-Erik. There are ways to improve HDX digital out too by using an external power supply only to offload the internal one, as has been reported here by Tylercoupe.

HDX also even slightly better still when link plug removed. However then the screen and remote control will not work. Only ipod ipad and NDC.

I did an extended comparison between the US and the NS01, rather than the HDX. I preferred the latter, but could imagine some preferring the US. Worth a listen in your own system.
