Over and OUT.

Well the last post, about Chord Sarum (now deleted) is enough for me to say bye bye.

Peter (The Swami) seems now to be on a one man crusade to diss just about anyone who wants to spend more than a couple of hundred quid on their system.  Now it seems his energy is on dealers, and Peter Swain is on his radar because he defends a product he believes in. Peter Swain along with a few other dealers i have mentioned before is one of the best, most thorough, service orientated around, and has always been a very good guy to deal with.

Not really sure Peter (The Swami) why you feel it necessary to turn every post into a war of attrition but i for one am bored of it.

Goodnight and good luck.

Well another member gone. Won't be anyone left soon shame really used to enjoy this forum but some people need to take a good long hard look at themselves they have ruined it. But I live in hope that these ****s will soon piss off and leave us music and Naim loving people to enjoy once again this forum like it was in the old days........Why so serious.

Gary,it would be a shame to lose you from this forum and I fully understand your reasoning. I find that there are a handful of very irritating posters on this forum who seem to contribute little with their almost endless meaningless postings. Hard as it is sometimes, I choose to ignore their ramblings as  the informative, entertaining and useful posters far outweigh the irritants!

I hope you will reconsider and stay. Maybe you could make a return at a future time with a new username as is the current vogue!

Regards Andrew.

Gary - that would be a great shame imho.

I'm afraid this cynicism and frankly green eyed envy is quite common. It's common in other fora and descends into  bickering - you can't justify it, you can't hear any difference blah blah blah.

For those that don't consider a certain product is worth the $ - fine move on and leave others to make their own mind.

The post in question has been moved for review by forum admin following complaints received.

Frankly, this is not the place to post complaints about experiences with other brands.  Always best resolved directly or with the supplying dealer.  Forum rules prohibit other manufacturers or their agents from commenting on their own products so it's unfair to let such posts stand where there's no right of reply.

Hi Gary,

I hope you're still looking in. Simply ignoring the ill-informed assertions and prejudices of those who sometimes have a hidden agenda is probably the best way to deal with such posts. It would be a shame to lose your input.

The vast majority of contributors to the forum are grand people in my experience. It's a microcosm of society in general.

I don't understand this current trend. Boybanders the lot of em...

The best thing Nigel did was return to his original name IMO.

Dear Julian,

Thanks!

Been called a lot of things, but that one is novel!

In my case there was a lot of baggage that has sloughed away with my new membership.

I am glad to be membership rated in the 1700s rather than in single digits!

That represents my value here far more accurately!

'Boybanders'?......That's a new one on me.

Something to do with adopting new identities? G

Gary,

I totally agree with you. The forum has become a very dull place recently and the few wolves in sheep clothing (not including George of course ) who are just wind up merchants make it even more frustrating. I certainly don't feel like posting as much as I used to. As one of the few lucky enough to have one of the new Linn Kandid carts I was going to write a review but, TBH, I can't be bothered as the thread would probably be hijacked by the anti vinyl brigade.

I'm off to the other forum now where at least one can have a civilised discussion.

Good luck Gary.

Steve

A derisory appellation coined by one Vuk Vuksanovich (?) I seem to recall - referring to the use of pseudonyms.

John. (Real name Shirley).

I was not specifically referring to you George. However, you have now become a boybander, it is true.

Posted on: 16 June 2013 by GraemeH

Shirley you can't be serious?

Gary - still plenty good folks on here who value a good contribution as well as some idle banter. Your contributions are valued by many I'm sure. G

Dear Steve.

What anti vinyl brigade? Most of us digifobs deep down realize, that we took the wrong turn somewhere en route and REALLY can hear that vinyl ( on the right fruit-box) beats CD hands down. We are just trying to justify our existence that's all ( ME, I am just a wind up, but you know that by now ). Chin up Doc  have texted you Peter

Post about the music you like. That tends to be refreshingly free from acrimony, and personally I find it more interesting than equipment threads.

The Forum has many facets.

I gave up vinyl in 1991, and have since given up CD direct replay.

Computer audio for me!

Aplogies, George

Gary, please enjoy your music and reconsider.

In the meantime, from memory, here's a list of kit that you have posted about and those posts have been a joy: CDS3, Kans, IBLs, Nait XS, Nait 2, nap 250, nap 160, bolt down amps, nac 252, S400s, Rega RP3/exact, LP12, n-Sats and UQ. Oh, and SL2s.

Seriously man, you can't leave!

Best,

Chris

Excellent point Bruce.

Gary, don't go. You are quite well respected here, to say the least. I just expect to see your contribution here. Otherwise, the forum would be a lonelier place.

Posted on: 16 June 2013 by DrMark

I don't any longer own a turntable (still have about 40 records though), but I don't consider myself "anti-vinyl" at all, and would rather see you stay Gary.

'Over and OUT'

Sorry to be pedantic but this is very bad AVP (army voice procedure)!

'....., Over' means that I have finished my last transmission and I am awaiting a reply.

'....., Out' means that I have finished my transmission and I am not expecting a reply nor am I listening for further transmissions.

Ergo, 'Over and Out' cannot be correct syntax (despite common usage to the contrary).  Just thought I would clarify that before anyone else decides to use AVP in vain.
