New (to me) Unitiqute..couple of novice questions

Posted by: Elbow on 24 June 2013

Hi guys,

I've bought a qute for a second home. It's driving a pair of new Dreamcatchers (sounds great and there's more than enough volume). Currently I'm using ALAC files ripped to a 32G thumb drive plugged into the qutes front USB port. The first issue is that while the qute can see my wifi network (from an airport express), it refuses to log in. The qute is not new, so I've reset it to the factory defaults and tried again, but I have the same problem. Is it possible that while the qute can see the network, the airport express is pushing out too weak a signal for it to connect (the airport express is in the basement, some distance from the qute)? Or is there something else that might be causing this?

Second question is does the qute sound as good over wifi as it would from a NAS that is hard wired to it? I guess the downside with the NAS is that without the wifi, you can't use n-stream, which is part of the appeal and elegance of the qute.

Sorry for the basic questions. I'm a vinyl luddite for the most part, so this is all pretty new to me and I couldn't find exactly what I needed from the search.

Thanks all.

Can't answer everything but it's said wired is equal or better SQ than wireless.

My dealer demo'd n-stream with my (not even an aerial connected at the back) ethernet wired UnitiQute2. I believe his iphone was communicating with the Qute via the wi-fi connectivity in the router (to and from), i just needed to give him the login details.
