Question on Unitiqute 2 amp power and Sonus Faber speakers

Posted by: Orpheus2013 on 26 June 2013

Hello to everyone,

Am very new to this forum and the Naim world - going and collecting my Unitiqute 2 in a few hours and am very excited!

I had a question I hope has not been answered before. I intend to connect the Qute directly to my Sonus Faber Concertino Home bookshelf speakers. The properties of them are as follows:

impedance: 6 Ohm
sensitivity: 88 dB/1W/1m

Will the Qute by itself be able to drive them easily or should I begin planning for a NAP100? I don't need earth shattering loudness, just medium to very occasionally high volume listening a couple of metres away, in a relatively small living room.

Many thanks!

Bonjour Orpheus,

I don't know about the Concertino, but I have a pair of Sonus faber Cremona AuditorM  powered by a Qute in a relatively small room, and I get fantastic music!

The AuditorM are 4ohm and 88dB sensitivity.

Just know that with the Qute you need to push the volume up

When playing CDs or streaming from the Mac, I often have the volume at 46 and sometimes as high as 55.

If the Concertino in your room need more power, you can always purchase later a Nap100 or a Nap200.

regards,

Edouard

Yes. Don't even think about the NAP 100 until you have given the combination a chance to show what it can do. Incremental upgrade will be available if you do use the NAP (200 may be overkill?) but you should have a really nice sound from the word go! Put them on stands though if you can.

Hello Edouard - what cables do you use with qute? what can you tell about sound? Is it 3d? How much lows?
