I see that this firmware update is available.

I am interested on experiences and tips of installing this update.

So, would be foot to hear from folks who have done the update.

I loaded it last night... very straight forward, following instructions in user manual.

I'm still searching for speakers (got Nap100 too), to be able to test  seriously the difference, but just using my son's headphones for half an hour, I would say that some improvements are noticeable.

I would like to hear "experienced" user's opinion of this new "Naim Toy" too, regarding this new firmware.

Did the upgrade.  The V1 didn't re start by itself. After a manual switch off and on the the firmware loaded ok.

The sound does not seem any different to me on a quick replay.

Haven't looked through changes in the menu system either.

Well so far so good with my first firmware upgrade.

I hope this cures the intermittent 'I2S underflow' error which cause the V1 to lock up and stop playing.

Update went smoothly.

Anyone know what was included in this update?

Checked with Naim (Steve Hopkins) and he could not give any detail of the content.

I presume that the content is bug fixes only, even so it would be nice to know.

Perhaps Richard or Phil could clarify?

Sorry Jude, can't help here.  That info can only come from Naim themselves.  Phil might know...

Did something listening this morning and the system sounds wonderful as ever.

The really satisfying thing for me is how good Internet Radio and iTunes downloads sound, this is because I didn't expect it to.

However, cannot still tell whether there is a difference in SQ because of the firmware.  If anything the music is more coherently presented.  For example Jumpin' Jack Flash, GRR, Rolling Stones (24.88 FLAC download from Linn records and converted to AIFF with XLD) sounds less 'splashy'.

Of this could be down a number of things like the V1 running in, etc etc etc.

Would be good to know from Phil whether there is supposed to be an improvement/change in SQ because of this update ....

One thing is for sure, the sounds of tennis balls hitting rackets is gonna sound very good through the V1 for the next few hours (or is that the Pimms talking)
