Does an audiophile rack optimise SuperUniti?

Posted by: AndyL on 13 July 2013

Hi everyone

I have my SU on the lower shelf of a large mahogany end table - nothing else on the shelf - very rigid but not what I'd call light

Tried sorbothane pads under the SU, think it sounds tighter without them

Generally very pleased with the sound

Rest of kit: Totem Arros via NACA5 plus Powerline

Am I likely to improve the sound using a dedicated audiophile grade rack e.g. Fraim?

Would dem of course

I've not tried it on Fraim, but I got a big improvement switching from the heavy Hifi Racks Slimline to the very light Quadraspire Q4 Evo, so I imagine Fraim would be better still.

I believe the fundamentals behind these are the material's ability to absorb and transmit vibrations around itself so the choice it materials and its structure is key towards a good support.

I was very dubious of the merits of the Powerline, but now use on on my SuperUniti to excellent effect. And with a SU, you only need a single Powerline to optimise the whole system!

Yes I've tried with and without; for me it makes quite a difference in tighter bass and clarity
