Oppo BD players..are users happy?

Folks

I recall lots of threads ( can't find the damn things) extolling Oppo DVD/Blu-ray players. Can a few users remind me how happy they are. I want to drive my Infocus HD projector with it so what are projected pictures like on Oppo's

I am tempted to buy the new OPPO -BDP-93EU particularly for its universal disc play capability. Anybody got there hands on one of these yet?

Any input appreciated.

regards
Geoff

Ok thanks for that guys.

In terms of music performance then , how does the Oppo sound: flat earth (pr&t, dynamics) or round earth (accuracy, detail, soundstaging).

I've never bothered to analyse it that closely.  All I know is that for CD, I prefer the DVD5 : more PRAT etc.   However, I do find that the HD audio codecs on bluray via the Oppo's decoders into AV2 clearer, more detailed, and more dynamic than the Oppo's digital output (which IIRC downgrades then to DTS) into the AV2's coaxial SPDIF input.  It's not an enormous difference, but worthwhile IMO.

Can't say I've used it much for music - prefer the DVD5 if it is disc based. Either way I take the output to my nDAC for processing.

I have just got a Toto BluRay from LoveFilm - I'll post after I've had a chance to watch it.

I think the HD BluRay tracks are different from the more compressed DD / DTS via the AV2 - I wouldn't automatically choose one over the other.

Although the DVD5 picture is excellent I would definitely say the Oppo is better for DVD picture where the DVD is sub-par.

Just took delivery of my Oppo 93.  It came well boxed.  It is also a heavy player about 4-5 times heavier than my Sony 360.

Installed the basic setup and was very impressed with the picture and sound quality.  I used Avatar as a 1st disc.  It looks and feels like a quality product.  £599 delivered free and is BD multi region modded.

I own the Cambridge 650bd and my friend owns the Oppo 83se, both are excellent machines and I have had them both connected to my Supernait and could tell no difference between the two.

I have had the 650bd since December 09 and haven't had one issue with it, plays every disc perfectly.

Now if Cambridge would add a digital input to the 751, that would be special.
