Roxy Music Live Tour 2011

Posted by: Jet Johnson on 27 January 2011

I was at the Metro Arena in Gateshead on Tuesday night to catch the first night of Roxy's current "For Your Pleasure" tour and was well impressed.
The sound wasn't in my opinion great but never is in these aircraft hangar type venues.

It quickly became clear that (tonight at least) this tour is aimed at the hard core fan rather than those who only really know the later singles.  They kicked off with "The Main Thing" from Avalon but most of the set was sourced from the earlier albums inc an excellent "Amazona" from Stranded and a wonderful "If there is something" from their debut.
Ferry's voice was in fine fettle and the large band (inc the Great Paul Thompson + 2 glamorous dancing girls) were in good form.

If any other forum members are heading to Scotland or Manchester / London you are in for a treat.
