Can anyone help with my home cinema set up and intermittent volume noise.
I use an AV2 with 32.5, Supercap and 7 naim 135's.I have a setting that I use to match volumes on the 32.5 and run this through the AV2, I use the AV2 analogue in from a Denon 3800 BR player. All works great, but strangely I have hiss at certain volumes as I move from the standby volume of 36, turn to 37 lots of hiss, turn to 35 lots of hiss, leave a 36 deadly quiet. 42 is quieter but noisier than 36 and 47 is okay....
Any ideas what might be going on ?

I used to own a DVD5/AV2, and whilst there were bugs aplenty I didn't experience anything so bizzare as this. My gut feeling is that the AV2 is faulty as the level of hiss seems to depend on its volume setting but does not increase in a linear way as volume is increased, which you would expect it to if it were being generated outside the AV2. I would take it to your dealer and have him check it out. Failing that I guess it's a question of trying to eliminate things, ie. lots of unplugging components etc. to see if anything makes a difference. Best of luck with what sounds to be a frustrating problem.
