Synology NAS problems

Posted by: John Burrow on 21 July 2013

I use a synology disc station 410 and mostly found it to be flawless, however for the last month none of my streaming devices is finding any new files placed on it, the N stream, and DS audio apps along with an oppo Bluray and a samsung bluray are not showing audio or video files, a windows and an apple computer in the house have no trouble reading or writing to the NAS, the disc station is running latest software, I've even done a reset from the rear of the disc station. Both the N stream and DS audio are up to date. I'd appreciate any thought on this problem. Thanks.

Sounds like the DNLA/UPNP database has gone wrong, try forcing a rescan from the NAS browser (Or UPNP browser)

I have an older 211j and sometimes I have to copy the files once or twice before it shows up on N Stream.  When that happens, I find that when I log into the Synology and check via the Audio Station, the copied files do not show up there too.  Dont know why that happens but it does.

I have the same problem - files can be seen with windows explorer by not with Ipad

Clearing the cache on the IPAD normally solves the problem

You mentioned ds audio is up to date, might want to check if Media Server is up to date too.
