Big improvement after replaced the NAS power supply !!!

Dear Folks,

I borrowed the Teddycap 12V/4A to power up the synology 211j for test my streaming system. Now, i can share my feeling to everyone here.

Overall of the song had big improvement that mention as below.

1. Background darker than before many many.
2. Has a good control on bass and treble. (Bass tight & treble not hash)
3. Singer presentation has more impression than before.
4. The rhythm is more compact, it will make the song more musical.

It is valuable to buy, it will bring you to next music level if you use streaming method to listen music.

I will also DIY a USB to 3.5mm cable to power up the network switch from the NAS/Streamer, try to see any improvement on there.

Cheers,
marcobb

It sounds like you have an electrically noisy environment. I really would try a LAN isolator and keep your NAS and other SMPS on a different ring main to your Naim audio equipment.

I keep my NAS in an entirely different room. Fancy power supply or not doesn't matter. Problem solved. Otherwise, a compliant ethernet cable is all that's necessary. Nothing fancy.

A friend of mine reports a similar improvement tohis Unitiserve  connected (via router) by CAT5 to his NDS - so although it may not logically make sense -  once again 'hearing is believing'

I'm using a power supply from Israel on my UnitiServe, which gives a definite improvement over the supplied plastic box.
