N-stream can't find uniti qute

Posted by: Laurens on 01 August 2013

Using n-stream on my qute via iPhone 4S   Suddenly it can't find the qute   I tried manually connecting as well as auto. Reset the qute to factory settings and reloaded n-stream. Qute connects to the network , same network as the iPhone but still n-stream is unable to find the qute on the network.  Is there something I am forgetting ?

Qute - damn auto-correct!

Also try rebooting your router.

Re-booted the router and qute but same problem. N/stream keeps saying no devices found but yet it connects to the wifi and sees the network. Any other ideas?

Any homes nearby using the same Wi-Fi channel as you?

If you have a Windows based laptop try the following from a command prompt

netsh wlan show all

this will list all SSID Wi-Fi in your area and show channel info

I have a four channel router but the qute, my iPhone and PC all share the same channel.  The qute sees them all and I connect it to the one I use for hifi ......

I guess your not based in the uk, have you tried on your iphone removing your existing wifi connection to your access point and rejoining?

also is the Qute on the latest firmware?

Also download an app to your iPhone called Fing (free app) and scan your network and see if your qute is listed

Qute has latest firmware. Fing can't see the qute which is connected to the network via wireless (I get Internet radio using the qute handset). Qute and iPhone reset and reconnected to the network but n stream like fing can't see it ....

On the Qute if you look under setup (spanner on remote), factory settings, system status then scroll down to IP do you see an IP address ?

Yes

After 3 days it rectified itself.... re-connected to another channel on the home network, and connected pc and iPhone to the same channel and now it all works. I did this already, why it worked now and not earlier I don't know! My brother said it was the Ivor Teifenbrun virus  LOL

Glad I could help

Laurens, glad it sorted it self - but I suspect it will happen again - it suspiciously sounds like poorly implemented multicast (used for discovery) on your wifi. If it happens again I suggest you get an Apple Airport Express and just use it for the wifi for your Ipad and iphone that you run Nstream on.

(If you are already AppleAirport Express then it can't  be this ........). But I had a similar issue which I diagnosed to this. No probs whatsoever now using Apple Airport Express as the wifi access point.
