The next Dr?

I'd love it to be Alice off of Luther

Or Peter Capaldi!

Nothing serious, please, any guesses?

In The Sun readers' vote, Emma Watson came out as a clear winner with 29%, followed by comedian Miranda Hart with 15% and then Jenna Louise-Coleman.

Ed Miliband would be a good choice.

Bookies have stopped taking bets on Peter Capaldi. I wonder if he'd be allowed to use his Scottish accent.

At the risk of incurring wrath I wouldn't be comfortable with a woman in the role. Sorry.

Ben Whishaw would be my pick.  Liked him on "The Hour".  But though he did well, I thought he was miscast in Skyfall as the new Q (who I've always envisioned as an old guy).

Should be a fun reveal on Sunday night.  I also think it is time to turn down the show's campiness a bit, and take Dr Who in a slightly more dark and gritty direction.  We'll see...

ATB.

Still, he is fond of time travel, our Michael, isn't he? He's always going back to the 1890s and the 1930s.

Tony

Peter Capaldi would be ace, but only if he was in Malcom Tucker mode.

A super-sweary, mega-scary Doctor would be brilliant. Even the Daleks would be worried and you can imagine the fear on his assistants' faces when they were called into the Tardis for a bollocking...

What? Not even Christina Hendricks

Or Berenice Bejo?

I don't really watch Dr Who, unless instructed to do so by children. But if CH or BB were the Doctor, I would definitely become a regular viewer.

Come on Auntie, you know it makes sense...

James Robertson Justice?

Or even better, Leslie "Ding Dong" Philips (right)?

Or Dr Tinkle himself, Kenneth Williams, with his glamorous matronly assistant Hattie Jacques?

Dr. Strangelove gets my vote [is this an election?]

Good choice! Hope he doesn't use the same language he employed in " The Thick of It"!  (Great program of course)

How long til he tells the daleks to F*** OFF?
Posted on: 04 August 2013 by Reginald Halliday

And tells his assistant to get her knickers off. Hang on, I might start watching then.
