England V Scotland predictions

Posted by: TWP on 14 August 2013

Good Afternoon to all lovers of the beautifull game ,

As you may be aware the oldest international fixture gets another run out tonight , what are your predictions , thoughts, expectattions.

This is classed as a friendly but being English or Scottish  you really dont want to lose. England are expected to win given they have the  so called superior team filled with Premier League stars ( though some from the old trafford pursuasion are pulling out as i type) , Scotland it is fair to say are not the team they once were and apart from the Croatia win have nearly as much as England to shout about recently .

i am as always hoping for a free flowing high scoring England Victory though in reality , i expect to see a drab 1-0 win for England with non stop free kicks , bad tackles and lots of rolling around.. unless of course the U21 team turn up

Any other thoughts,, Candaian cyclists that dont like Football need not reply

He is not exactly on the spoilt Suarez scale , or decided to go home injured then apear as a pundit for a foreighn tv station but he is fast becoming a candidate for mardy gett of the year .. hopefully scores before he breaks anything !

TWP i must hold my hand up and say sorry,as i forgot all about that piece of scum that Liverpool have on their books. He is a nasty piece of work, watched him a few times at the Cottage going down like as sack of spuds in the box and wanting a penalty. To bite a fellow player, well what can i say !!

I think it will be a bit dull, unless the haggis-scoffers come out of the blocks and shake up the complacent English.

It would be terrific if the Scots scored first, gave England a fright and if Lambert scores the winner to give the ragged remnants of the "golden generation" a scare as well.

On another note, I wish they'd bring back the home internationals - they were great fun and allowed managers to blood young prospects.

There are some good pics of it on the LBC website G

And to answer the old question about what a Scotsman wears under his kilt, here's a possible answer - something very damp indeed.

Mista H , no need to apologise,, Not a fan of Rooney or any other hard up premier league player who becomes detached from reality.. though i cant blame him for wanting to leave the  soon ( hopefully ) trafford sinking ship..

Though if he scores a couple tonight all will be forgotten for a short while

Welbeck's was pretty good

2-2! Dull it's not. And with Rickie L on, my prediction about him scoring the winner could become reality!

Looks like 4-2 is a real possibility.

Erm, this post showed up after he'd scored!

Yes, but I wrote it before. Honest.

I feared a bloodbath after the depths to which we've descended in recent years but it turned out to be a thoroughly entertaining game and a much more useful exercise for both sides than a meaningless friendly. We played our best football in years and I think Strachan will take more positives from it than Hodgson. We've a long way to go before we're truly on our way to a genuine recovery but I think Strachan's on the right road.
