Unitiqute 2 as streamer only ?
Posted by: Scooot on 14 August 2013
I would ultimately like to end up with a all naim system.i have at present a sb touch into ndac.as I don't want to lose a lot of money selling the ndac to fund a possible ndx.as the unitiqute is great vfm I was wondering if it would be a good option to use as a streamer only into my ndac.

Hi Scott,
I use a Qute1 as a streamer on my 552/300, the SQ is just amazing!
Now if you use a Qute/NDac into your amplification, the result should be even better!

Edouard
Thanks for the reply, that's very encouraging to hear.are you using the quete dac or external dac.

Haven't compared the sound quality directly, but I'm pleased with my Sonore Rendu, which a streamer only (no DAC). I think of it as a very high squeeze box. Doesn't support internet radio yet directly, but you can get it to work via push from UPNP. I wish NAIM would release a streamer without a DAC....
+1 mate.a streamer that just streams is top of my list but I can't see this happening.this is why I posted the question. Would love to have all things naim and thought the qute would be a viable option considering i already own the ndac.
Where is mango monkey when you need him(lol). I'm sure i read a post suggesting he done some listening of the qute into ndac with good results.

Scott,
I'm using the Qute Dac.

It seems a shame to buy the Qute and only use 10% of it. I wonder if selling the DAC and getting a used NDX might be the better way. The cost should be the same, or less.
I would go get a s/h UnitiQute - 1. That into your Naim Dac will sound better than the NDX.

i am using a UQ1 streamer, with digital out to nDAC/XPS, in 282/200 system, and it sounds great. I agree, it seems a shame to waste the little integrated amp, but.... It sounds too good to pass up.
I have posted at greater length a while back.

Thanks for all the replies.i will keep an eye out for a s/h qute and give it a try.
