Have you updated your product firmware to 3.21 ?

Sorry, the version is 3.20. it seems that the webinterface shows something different.

I'm using the new nStream with my SuperUniti which is still running 3.17, with no issues. I suggest you delete the app and reinstall it.

N-stream app works with my NDS and SuperUnity but not UnityQute 2 but have not updated any to 3.21 yet! thought it was app at first!!

Now I experience the next Problem: the USB Driver. If I try to install the x86, it says I need the x64. If I do so, it says there is no driver for my machine. Since I don't have 64-bit Hardware, x86 should be the right one. Any ideas on this?

It is a good idea to wait a month or two after update release. I do that with every software.

Is anyone else having issues with this new version of N-Stream?  I have had a Qute since first introduced and done every firmware and N-stream update over the years without a hitch.  I now have a Qute2 and successfully updated to v3.21, and all functions test fine by the system remote.

The N-stream app is where the problem comes in.  Launching the app wakes up the system, but all functions revert back to FM, unless selected by the system remote, in which case the iradio station and graphics (same for UPNP) show up fine on my iphone.   The volume slider and mute functions work occasionally, but unless initially selected (or perhaps prompted) by the system remote, the Nstream app will not control the system.

Any thoughts or pointers?

No problems here on my Qute (which may well be the 2, but that's another story) that I've updated to 3.21.  My first suggestion is to uninstall and reinstall nStream on your iDevice. That often fixes things.

Thanks.  I've tried to un-install and reinstall the app, checked for IP address changes, network settings, etc.  I'm really stumped on this one.

By the way, does your Qute have the mini USB port for system updates?  My understanding is that it if does, it's a Q2.   I think I might have an early production Q2, as the Q2 label appears to be a sticker that covers the Q1 logo.

Eh sorry that didn't work for you.  I'd also do things like kill all processes running on the phone (double-tap the home button and close all the apps), and then do a hard reboot of the phone, then reinstall nStream.  Then I'd do all the basic network stuff like turn off the Qute and phone, reboot the router, then turn on the phone and Qute.  Maybe some sort of IP address conflict from DHCP?

Yes my Qute has the mini USB port on the back, not a serial port.  Someone else posted that that makes it a Qute 2, which if true makes me happy as I bought it just a few weeks before the 2 was announced! TY.

I have already updated to 3.21 software, but the new app is still crushing even I reinstall it after reseting the IPAD !

try selecting an input on the streamer different from upnp and try entering N-stream again

Posted on: 17 August 2013 by kyoto

when I switch input to "USB", it simply ask me to plug in the USB device, but when I switch back to UPIP, it crushes out !!!

Posted on: 17 August 2013 by Kaver

it sounds like there is some kind of problem with your upnp setup. Try and go back to the old N-stream and see if that still works.

Posted on: 17 August 2013 by kyoto

how do you do that? I only see one version to download from on the app store?

Posted on: 17 August 2013 by TJ

Hi Kyoto,

Could you double check in the settings menu of your product that it is reporting version 3.21.

- What UPnP server are you using?

- Does browsing work OK from the front panel?

- If you switch on compatibility mode in the n-Stream settings does that help
?

If you don't get it resolved this weekend suggest you contact the Naim support team on Monday

Cheers

Tom

yes confirmed it says 3.21.01   was updated by my dealer two days ago.

I can control via the front panel no problems

I can even control via Kinsky and PS Audio app no problem.

Only the new version of N-Stream crushes !

It basically allows me a few seconds on the N-stream display and then crushes.

After a lot of trial and error, I found a way to reinstall an older app version... profided you still have a backup. 1) Copy the old n-Stream to another location, 2) Synchronize, 3) Copy the old n-Stream back in your iTunes Media, 4) DoubleClick and confirm that you want the old Version, 5) Restore from backup.

I have just upgraded my NDS to firmware 3.21 and iPhone 5 to n-stream 3.3. It works as expected but for one thing which is that I cannot control my CDX2 via n-stream anymore. The CD controls do not appear anymore. I have a cable with two jacks to connect the NDS to the CDX2. I have tested both unsuccessfully. I have checked the NDS setup quite carefully. It can control the 282 preamp but not the CD player. I could not find the cause of the problem.

Could anyone help ?

Best,

Michel

with the new app upgrade, there's a function in the setup call the "UPnP compatibility mode". I am wondering if this is the reason of the function issues and the crashing of the app itself?

Somme update about the CDX2 control problem through n-Stream and my NDS. The problem lies in n-stream 3.3. Indeed, I just changed my old iPhone 3GS for an iPhone 5. Since I still have the old iPhone 3 installed with n-Stream 3.2, I tested whether I could control the CDX2. I could, indicating that n-Stream 3.3 has a problem. Incidentally, I could use Seek2Time with version 3.2. I will keep it until the problem on 3.3 is solved.
