DAC-V1 Firware 16 will not stay off mute

Posted by: PythonsMelee on 17 August 2013

Hi

(This is my first post to this forum so apologies in advance for any faux pas :-) )

I have a Qute V1 feeding a DAC-V1 via the native digital I/O (set on the DAC as button 1).  From new the DAC-V1 would intermittently drop back into mute.

I hoped that applying the latest firmware (16) would solve this but it did not.  (BTW: I can give instructions for firmware upgrading of the DAC via Ubuntu if anyone is interested).

Touching the Naim badge to bring it off mute; using the remote control to bring it off mute; switching to USB then back to 1 -- none of these are *reliable* ways to stop the DAC dropping to mute every few seconds.

Any and all help appreciated.

Best regards

Hi I cannot help directly as I have not experienced this.  If it were me, I would get in touch with my dealer or Naim Technical Support.

I'm amazed you are putting up with this. Ask your dealer for a new one which works properly.

Just to close this off.  I returned the unit which was diagnosed with a logo issue.

My DAC-V1 was returned today and is now back in its stack (with a Qute and a NAP-100) and performing excellently.

A very good service from the team at Naim!!
