No internet radio on N172XS
Posted by: PG on 18 August 2013
I have no iradio on my N172XS. All was fine. I've checked IP addresses, re set the Unit twice, re set the home hub, check internet etc. All it says after trying to load is Internet Radio...Empty.
It was working OK a week ago, but nowt today.
Any thoughts on what the issue night be, streaming works fine.
Cheers

Me too on a NDX. I had only just updated it to the new firmware and was convinced that I had broken something. If others are also have no iRadio then I will stop reconfiguring every network setting that I can find at home and just wait it out.....
Yes, i'm having internet radio problems on my SuperUniti too. I could get WFMU a couple of hours ago, but there's nothing now. I have updated to 3.21, so I was thinking that was the issue. It would be better if it's only a vtuner thing. Thanks!
same problem on superuniti, clearly on the server end.
I should add that i am now streaming Radio Paradise from their webiste via AirTunes into the Superuniti - SQ is poor, 128kbs on the website streaming to ipad then to airtunes with its high jitter!) but it works.
Same here on an ND5.
Internet Radio working fine yesterday on my ND5 yesterday. Nothing at all today.
Internet Radio (more or less the same station set as I listen to on the ND5) still working perfectly on a Linn Klimax Renew I have in a 2nd system.
Obviously a problem at the Naim end. Is anyone else able to connect?
It won't work on my SuperUniti. It's a bit rubbish really. It's a good thing we still have FM. iRadio needs to be more reliable.
Not alone then, like others have said I'll stop fiddling with the network, was just about to take it apart and start again. Thanks everyone.
Is this connected to 3.21 or not? People seem to be saying different things on this thread. I updated firmware on Friday and had no problems until today. Thanks!
Same Problem on my Uniti2. Updated on Friday to 3.21. No Problems. Today no
Webradio.
I'm having exactly the same problem, was all working fine yesterday after I did the 3.21 update. I've had to reset my qute 2 at least 5 times to get UPnP to work...a right pain!
My ND5 too. Updated to 3.21 without errors (took 20 mins). UPnP OK. Didn't try iRadio until I read this thread. Likewise, no iRadio items whereupon return to UPnP looked OK until selecting track from playlist which caused immediate jump to UPnP server list and no music. Result is infinite loop ServerList>Music>Playlists>List>Track>ServerList>etc .Power-Off-wait-Power-On restores UPnP and breaks the loop. No problem with UPnP/USB switching.
My Uniti will not connect most of today.
Tried this site and it confirms not my connection or Uniti.

Same problem, with 3.17 software on UQ2. Problems started yesterday when changing from one preset station to another took around 3 minutes, now nothing!!
I'm betting it's a firmware problem. If the problem is caused by unavailable web resource, then the firmware isn't protecting itself against this unavailability and needs correcting. If the problem isn't web resource related then it's internal and needs correcting. Either way, there is a firmware issue. Note that the problem isn't fixed if the return of the web resource appears to establish normality, it is merely suppressed until the web resource disappears again.
Not sure it is a firmware problem. I haven't upgraded my firmware (still on 3.17).
Problems only encountered today.
If this is the first incident of missing web resource, it may be the first exposure of the problem, and it exists in all firmware revisions
It is a problem at the Naim end. Both my HDX and NDX have no internet radio and yet my Sonos system is fine.
The way Naim have implemented Internet Radio is an issue. In order to give you Naim's choice etc and be able to offer new stations on it, the Naim Iradio equipped units log into a server upon which Naim provide details of Naim's choice etc and specific streaming links for Naim only services like Radio paradise 320k stream. Doing it this way means if there is a problem linking to the Naim server then you get nothing which is the situation now. TBH like a lot of things Naim do with software it is a bit amateur. The hardware is great but the software leaves a lot to be desired.
Naim's web implementation is irrelevant if the problem occurs when the web resource is unavailable. Their implementation only becomes significant for web-connected issues.
