Changing Genres of FLAC files on n-Serve OS X app

Posted by: The Meerkat on 22 August 2013

Hi members

I have downloaded some 24 bit FLAC files (The Beatles), which are stored on my NAS.They play back just great on my UnitiServe SSD. On the iPad it displays the Artwork, Album name and track listings perfectly, but it displays the Genre as 'unassigned', which is not a huge problem, as I thought that I could edit that on the n-serve OS X app on my Mac. The only options it gives are Google, Wikipedia and YouTube? Has anyone tried to edit the metadata, or can't it be done with with n-Serve OS X app?

Thanks

use 'Tag' available on the macupdate website.

David, the n-Serve app will only edit metadata of files from cd's actually ripped on the uServe.  I use on my Mac the program Gary mentioned; it's called Tag.

I download files (say from Naim, or B&W) to my computer, edit the tags with Tag, and THEN add them to my Naim music share.  That is better than editing after adding them to the share and then editing.

Ah, thanks Gary & Bart. I was a bit worried about the site that 'Tag' comes from, but if you guys are using it, then it must be fine.

Thanks

David

Its old but well programmed so has worked all these years. Simply drag all the tracks onto it, fill in the just the genra  field and then save

TAG only tags flac files.
