Thinking of various options here. I already have a SBT as a streamer. It's ok, but I have the nagging feeling all the time that source first, means I am not getting the full musical information.
How does the DAC v1 sound like with a 202/200 system?
also has anyone tried Qute 2 as a streamer/dac into 202/200
the reason I am not thinking of ND5/ or NDAC is because I am not sure it is worth it unless one is listening to lossless files. or maybe it is. I don't know.
I do like the NDS immensely, but funds are a consideration. in hindsight I would have bought XS level separates to free up cash for an NDS purchase.
I know it is source first, just keen to see if the qute 2 / DAC V1 can be used with a 200 level system.

Ok,here goes.not a 100% comparison but some where near.at present I have a sbt into ndac/202/200/hicap dr/napsc and is giving fantastic results.(never tried sbt internal dac).
I have at home as I post this a unitiqute and ndx on home dem(I want to move to a all naim system.
I first tried the qute into my ndac.
To my ears I could honestly not tell any difference compared to the touch.my opinion is that at this level you are actually listening to the dac not the transport.i have not tried the qute dac but can if you want alough I'm no expert at describing changes.i could only say better or worse to be honest.
Next the ndx bare(will not try this with dac as I could not afford both).
I would have to sell ndac to partly fund ndx.
To my ears the ndx is a big step up even with its internal dac.i could quite easily live with the ndx in my system.

I'm listening to a 202/200/HiCap-2 fed by a ND5XS in my study at this moment, and it sounds amazing. Try to find one s/h. I would wait and save up.
Haven't tried the Dac V1 - Although I'm hoping to try one some day and am hoping it can replace the 202/HiCap-2.
I'm part of a minority, but the SBT didn't do anything for me - something in the signal would just annoy the heck out of me...
If getting the Qute-2, maybe consider using it as a preamp and selling off the 202?
