Internet radio blocked by parental settings

New owner of a Superunti here. Thought I would mention a problem I had in case it helps anybody else.

Set up my Superuniti a couple of weeks ago, and apart from a brief 5 mins could not get iRadio to function at all. Wired or wireless it was the same. Spent ages messing around with settings, reading these forums, and just getting more and more frustrated.

uPnp streaming on the network no problem at all, just no iRadio. It would say press list for stations, and then it would just hang there searching. I was going to give up when yesterday I went through every Netgear router setting and changed it.

Eventually, when I disabled the parental settings ... bingo!

The router has a facility to block sites containing certain key words, and I had "porn" as the key word. All those 100's of internet radio stations, and some of them must fail the test and block traffic to the Superuniti.

Not sure about your specific Netgear router, but you can usually manage this type of thing by MAC address of the machine, or the port which its plugged into.
