I've been keeping an eye out for this one for a long time Graham. It's been a long time coming. Originally they were saying it was going to be £99. The price on Amazon is a little easier to swallow.

I've just seen on the Music Direct website that it's due for shipping on 23/09/13. I think that may be a bit optimistic.

On Amazon UK the release date is given as 8th October.

Where from?

Diverse Vinyl is now saying that they are shipping so hopefully Amazon may not be far behind.

Considering Diverse is over £20 more expensive I'll wait.

I have received my copy and played it. Wow!! This is another fantastic job on the Dylan re issue series. I do not have an original to compare it to but I do have an 80's uk repress. Needless to say I won't be playing that again. If you rated  any of the previous Mofi recent dylan reissues you will not be disappointed with this one.

The price has now gone up to £72.99 on Amazon. Pleased I ordered early. It's good to hear that the SQ is good Premmyboy. I've enjoyed the first three in the series.

Steve.

A big thanks on this one. Not sure I would have been prepared to pay what Amazon are now asking. By the way what are the first three?

Regards  Graham.

Graham,

Freewheelin', Bringing It All Back Home and Another Side Of Bob Dylan. The first two are the best but if you want them get in quick as I noticed on the MOFI site they are sold out. I don't think there will be another print run.

Scale of 1 to 10 - how much better than the original vinyl?

Posted on: 29 September 2013 by Steve J

I have the originals Chris and even allowing for wear over the years the SQ of the 45rpm LPs is very special. I would say originals-8, 45s-10. When you come over I'll play them for you.

Hi Chris. I have just read this review posted by Michael Fremer,

"So how did Mobile Fidelity do here? The sound and overall presentation are simply astonishing. I don’t care how many time you’ve heard this album in stereo, you will hear musically significant details in every track. The instrumental separation and subsequent release of inner detail boggles the mind and ear. The release of information and textures on, for example, the late Kenny Buttrey’s kick drum alone (he died in 2004 at age 59, which means he was but 21 when he drummed on this record) will have you shaking your head. Same for the rhythm guitar fills and the keyboard parts.

Instrumental separation, dynamics, rhythmic drive, textural complexity, bass clarity, placement in space, every aspect of what makes a recording compelling are ramped way up compared to the 3 3A pressings I have, two of which include the Claudia Cardinale photo so I assume them to be early pressings. Dylan’s voice remains somewhat caustic and harsh as intended.

The originals sound soft and mushy by comparison even though I used to think the 3A pressing sounded more than fine.

This 3 45rpm LPs reissue is simply better than the original in every way without showing any kind of revisionist disrespect to the original and that goes for the remix from the multi-track."

Richard hope I am not infringing any forum rules posting this if so please take it down.

Regards Graham.
