Ferrite Clamps for Naim DC1

Posted by: prt555 on 25 September 2013

Hello,

I've read on this forum that some members use ferrite clamps around the Naim DC1 digital cable to reduce unwanted electrical noise and I wanted to try these myself between Unitiserve & nDac.

Does anyone know what specification or make of clamps seem to work best? Or even better if someone can post a link to where these can be purchased?

I've seen some cheap ones on ebay from China but want to make sure that I get the right ones?

Many thanks

Paul

Pretty sure that's where I got mine from. Didn't make any difference in my system but they are so cheap that it can't hurt to try. And they are very portable so can be used in a variety of locations. They don't need to be a tight fit.

+1, for our purposes we don't need to be exact, so most ferrite cable clamps will apply. The effects are subtle but of course do vary largely on the digital source connected to the DC1, and the transparency of your downstream electronics and speakers.

I have found a ferrite clamp around the Ethernet cable into my NDX had a subtle change for the better as well.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll checkout the ones from Maplins.

Cheers.

Hi guys

Well now I know what those little things are on some of my cables!

I've noticed that there is also a 'ferrite clamp' on the power cable of my UnitiServe, and also on the power cable of my Qnap NAS. I thought it was only source cables?
