Naim Label Test Pressings
Posted by: Simon Halliday on 30 September 2013
Dear Forumites,
Here at Naim Label HQ we will be clearing out our back catalogue of vinyl test pressings. Rather than see them go in the bin we would like to invite forum members to offer them a good home. We can’t make any promises about pressing quality or what sort of music you will receive, but that might just make listening all the more exciting!
If you would like to receive a selection of our test pressings please email us at info@naimlabel.com with your postal address and we will send a selection out to you. We will be giving them away on a first come first serve basis until they are all gone.
We hope listening to our Test Pressings will provide a real insight into the challenges of producing great quality vinyl, be aware most of these TPs would have been rejected on some grounds but still it should provide interesting rainy day listening.
Happy listening!

I received 10 x LP's and 1 x 45 today. All white label and no artist info. This should be fun.
Many thanks Simon

Hi Denis.
I got conformation from Simon at Naim HQ yesterday that I would also be receiving some test pressing. As I type they have not yet arrived but as you say should be fun, we will have to compare notes.....
Take Care Graham.
PS. Just received nine albums + one 45pm. Thank you Simon
Also received my package too. Not as many as you Simon (7LP) but on playing my first LP it sounds great. I must have quality over quantity.
Thanks Simon,
Steve
I've just played the 1st track of the LP's and 4 of the 7 are duplicates. Never mind that's still 3 free good quality LPs.
Thank you for your kindness Simon!
They need a good scrub on the rcm first, to rid the static mainly.
But they all look nice and clean, not a finger print to be seen.
To be honest i never realised Phantom Limb sounded so good, this is going to lead to buying all the other Phantom Limb vinyls from the naim label.
The SQ is fantastic too : )

Debs
I have the Phantom Limb LP Debs and I was also pleasantly surprised by the SQ compared to the CD, much more enjoyable. I'm sure the CD sounds better on a CD555 than the CDX2 I was listening on.
Thanks also for the dead wax codes.
Steve
Mine arrived today too

+1 @ Debs. I will find them very helpful, just got a feeling these ' freebies' are going to cost me a lot of money in the long run!
regards Graham.
Mine turned up at work today. Will have to wait until tomorrow to find you what i've got.
Mine arrived today, just after my deck was taken away along with other Sarum cables for upgrade to tuned array spec. I'll have to wait for a couple of weeks before I can listen :-(
Thanks for sending them out Simon.
One record in - and I think you are probably right Graham

Hi Graham,
I believe that you may have a copy of NAIMLP133 - 'When the Heart Dances' by Laurence Hobgood. This LP was cut a number of times by different plants so there are a number of versions of it that you could have received.
All the best,
Simon Halliday
Just received an email from Naim advising that all their pressings have now been sent out, and no more available.
Shame that some were sent multiple discs and others not any.
Would have been nice to share the love a litte wider !!!
Finally back home after a week cycling in the Pyrenees, I was glad to receive 9 albums and one single. Have so far listened to all four sides of the Laurence Hobgood album and am extremely pleased! I have always admired the playing of Charlie Haden so am delighted to hear this. It's actually a very good album. I look forward to working through the other albums.
Have also voted for Sons of Kemet.
Thank you, Simon.
