Naim Label Test Pressings

Dear Forumites,

Here at Naim Label HQ we will be clearing out our back catalogue of vinyl test pressings. Rather than see them go in the bin we would like to invite forum members to offer them a good home. We can’t make any promises about pressing quality or what sort of music you will receive, but that might just make listening all the more exciting!

If you would like to receive a selection of our test pressings please email us at info@naimlabel.com with your postal address and we will send a selection out to you. We will be giving them away on a first come first serve basis until they are all gone.

We hope listening to our Test Pressings will provide a real insight into the challenges of producing great quality vinyl, be aware most of these TPs would have been rejected on some grounds but still it should provide interesting rainy day listening.

I received 5 and they were all different and sound excellent!

I used Shazam on my iPad to identify the albums, worked a treat, so if you are having problems working out what you have give it a try.

I too received a copy of the Charlie Haden / John Taylor 'Nightfall' album, and what a cracking album it is too!! I can see that I am going to have to buy this one as a download.

Also rather impressed on first listening to the Phantom Limb album.

Surely the offer to send doubles to another forum member can't break any rules.

No members to post for sale or wants, which includes offers of free goods (obviously Naim themselves as hosts are exempt here). It's one of the forum's cardinal rules and harsh as it may seem, no exceptions are made here, for good reason. Anyone who is not familiar with the forum rules I would strongly urge to read them.

Oh, I can probably think of some other instances too. But I'm sure you're familiar with the phrase "the thin end of the wedge". It's a cardinal rule, for so many different reasons that I'm not going to go into in this thread, and I'm not going to allow anything that may in future undermine that. BigH, it's what you don't see in the background every day of administering this forum that makes it so important to make the rule so strict.

Thank you Simon for the seven test pressing, which arrived very quickly, but I have just got round to finding what gems I had received.

I have listed them below: -

The sound quality is fantastic on all of them.

As you may have realized given the number of test pressings we had, it has been a long process getting NAIMLP133 - 'When The Heart Dances' by Laurence Hobgood up to standard for release.
