Similar questions to how tablets are replacing PC. I think it (traditionla hifi) will not go away so soon but it is no secret that the market is getting smaller.

Thanks for the link. I don't think that the Naims of the audio world have failed to see the future based on the emphasis on streaming products in recent years.

Having recently got an iPad, which we did take on hols  I still can't see me doing away with the iMac/PC type device at home, any more than getting rid of the multi box sound system.

The overall available market for hi-fi separates are shrinking. These days, the way to grow in many businesses that have fundamentally changed is to gain market share against your competition and there is a real limit of what you can get out of the pie.

 

The next is to expand on your offerings like the streamer products Naim has done so. Separates being separates, my personal opinion is that the growth will still be challenging as there are more people moving away from it than going into it.
