Pls help with ND5XS playback

Dear Forum

I've just spent the weekend downloading dBpoweramp as my cd ripper, installing a QNAP TS-212 and ripping 50 or so of my favourite CDs.

Extremely happy with the sound from flac files, but there is one aggravating problem which is taking the shine off things a little. I can play a whole album if I use the naim handset directly with the ND5XS, however when I use the n-stream app on my i-pad it will only play one track at a time, and I have to manually start the next track - this can't be how it should work, but I just can't work out what I'm doing wrong.

The QNAP has a DNLA server enabled as well as Twonky but I can't see anything on the config settings that would result in gapless or continuation playback. I've tried disabling the DNLA server but it stops streaming altogether then.

My n-stream app is version 3.4.7079 so up to date I think. The streamer version is 3.17.00.

Please can anyone help before I scream !

Thanks

Nigel

Hi Nigel,

Are you using IOS 7 on the IPad? If so I fear you might have to wait for an Nstream update.

It shouldn't be long now. I hope this doesn't put you off the ND5 - it sounds great and usually works very smoothly.

Matthew

Thanks for the response Matthew, and no, it hasn't put me off.

Yes I am using iOS 7 but I've also just found a setting on the Twonky config link which seems to have worked ! ! I can now link directly via Twonky missing out the DNLA server, and have remapped Twonky to the 'private' music folder where the QNAP has automatically stored the rips. From the above description you'll realise that I'm not a particularly  IT literate person.

Anyway, it seems to be working properly now. Listening to Merry Clayton, and her voice sounds great from a FLAC rip.

Yeah - really happy now. Thanks for the response, and sorry to waste your time.
