HDX SSD Tracks are dropping at the end

Posted by: shing on 12 October 2013

Had my HDX for almost 2 years now. Using drobo attached to a Mac Pro as a storage device. Just upgraded to OS 10.8 from 10.6.

That's when everything when haywire. I had to "reshare my files on the mac" and to "add the share again on the HDX"

And that's when all hell broke loose. This happens randomly, nearing the end of say song 1 say at -0.10 or so, the hdx would stop and skip to song 3 or some random tracks on the album. I would replay song 1 and all is good again...

I can confirm the network is NOT BEING DROPPED as I was running a terminal ping from the macpro to the HDX's ip and all was well. It can't be a OS permission issue as HDX was playing the song1.

I will create another music store, rip a couple of test cds and see where it gets me.

In the mean time can admin or anyone please help...it's driving me nuts!!!

Thanks

Current status - HDX can't even read from the USB. She is going back to the dealer for a "check up"

Your HDX may have got into a loop having had a glitch when it first encountered the new share. Can't explain it in computer terms but it happens, despite what some might say. In essence your computer is stuck on previous commands and will appear to have completely stopped working.

Try switching off and  unplugging the HDX. While unplugged switch it on to dissipate any residual current and then back off again. Plug back in and switch on. Then go through the process of (re)connecting to the network. Fingers crossed all will now be fine.  It's a more elaborate version of the switch it off and on again that sometimes electronics seem to require.

Hope it helps
