NStream and Folders

Posted by: Stephen Pritchard on 17 October 2013

I have an intermittent problem that sometimes my iPad / iPhone cant read the folders I have created with my music classifications (i.e. classical, modern, Jazz, Irish, Klezmer etc.)

Is this a known glitch with NStream or a problem with Twonky on my QNAP NAS?

Hey Stephen,

If the folders you created are all part of the root-directory (meaning, they are a child of the root) that you defined in Twonky, it should be ok. Sometimes it might help to restart the Twonky server again, or to click the "refresh files and folders - button".

The above is one of the reasons I decided to use Assett. Twonky does its job, but it could all be a bit smoother to my opinion.

Hi Iver

I assume the refresh files button is in Twonky Manager ...?
I have not used it before, but I'll give it a go before rebooting the NAS.
Thanks for the pointer to Assett - I'll do some research.

Hi Stephen,

Yes it is: in the advanced section. The button is called something like "refresh folders ...."

Go to Twonky web browser interface (192.168.x.x:9000/) and hit these buttons:

settings > advanced > rescan content folders > save changes

Make sure you hit the save changes button or else nothing will happen.

For Twonky to see your folders, remember to put them under Twonky's preset Multimedia folder.

Thanks Peter W - I had gone in via Twonky server configuration - maintenance - rescan; but there was no option to save changes.
