John Mayo RIP

I suppose it's ironic, in view of Wilko's much-publicised battle with cancer, that Gypie Mayo has apparently died in the last fortnight.

It was great that he helped get the Feelgoods some commercial success after 1977. LAtterly, the reformed Yardbirds made 'Birdland', one of the best-sounding CDs in my collection.

That's sad to hear. Too young! I've seen him a few times with Dr Feelgood and I thought he was a superb player. There was no substitute for Wilco but I thought him a sensible and effective replacement.
