Does anyone know the status of Desktop Client for the Mac. Is it still only available for Windows. I mean the full desk top client, not just the app.

Don't be confused by the Mac program being available in the 'Mac App Store.' The Mac version is the 'desktop client' for OS X. I use it all the time -- works well!
