NDX Faulty - Doesn't Power Up

My NDX seems to have developed a fault where by it doesn't power up when connected to the mains.
But it does power up using my 555PS and works as normal. Ever since I bought my 555PS DR earlier in the year, it has always been used with the external power supply, previously used the NDX on it's own for at least 10 months before getting the 555PS.
Has non use of the NDX's power supply made it go faulty? however weird that is?
What is this fault related to? Anyone ever experience this?
