10/100 ethernet switching - Is this speedy enough?

Posted by: Michel Werner on 08 November 2013

Hi everybody,

I had to change my ethernet switch. I bought a cheap (15&euro D-link DES-1008D. It is working at 10/100 Mbits/second. Is this speedy enough. I have tried it and it seemed to support streaming from my NAS to the NDS high resolution files.

Any ideas?

Best,

Michel

Yes absolutely, as your Naim equipment is also 10/100.

if you are playing 192/24 then 10 Mbps is just slightly not enough, but 100 Mbps is hugely ample.

Unless you are over riding something somewhere your Naim will negotiate 100 Mbps with your switch.
