Still shows 3.21 after the 3.22 update
Posted by: TN on 09 November 2013
Just installed the NDS with the 3.22 update. After the update, NStream still shows the NDS FW as 3.21 and this is also in the Factory Settings. Is this right?
John.. No this doesn't sound right. Mine says 3.22.000. (On my NDX / Nstream)
Are you sure you flashed the network player with 3.22 and didn't re flash with 3.21?
Simon
When I applied the update yesterday, I was given the option of 3.21 or 3.22, which is odd, as it's supposed to be a 3.22 update. So you may well have hit 3.21, as Simon suggested. It would be better if the 3.21 option was removed; maybe it needs to be there for some reason.
I've just checked my nStream and it says 3.22.000, so you've definitely done something wrong. Try again!
I want to do the update please can you tell me what cable from your computer to NDS did you use usb to mini usb??
One thing that was pointed out to me when I was beta testing what has become 3.22 is that you should always remove the previous version of the Streamer Updater before downloading the new one.
if you haven't done this you may have done what Simon suggested and simply reflashed 3.21. I was doing this when trying to download the beta.
FWIW I only got the option of 3.22 when I updated on Friday.
John - if you have one of the Naim streamers with a mini USB socket, you want a cable called USB 2.0 Type A to USB Mini B. I got mine from Amazon for £6, made by Lindy. It seems very well made, unlike some of the really cheapo ones for £2 or so. The upgrade was easy peasy, I really don't see why everyone makes such a fuss. If I can do it, anyone can.

I found that installing the new version got rid of the previous updater as part of the process, with no intervention from muggins.

Thank you so much will do I have this Usb to Usb mini regards
I downloaded the Update from the front page of the Naim website.
When updating, it showed at the top of the box "Naim Updater 3.22.003" and so it appears I was using the right update.
Prior to the update, I had deleted the previous 3.21 update files from the laptop.
Guess I should try again.
As you go through the install process, after the Welcome, and Connection check, you get to Update options - there is a drop down box menu where you should select 3.22....Western Europe (or respective region).
this should work...
Good Luck

You're welcome!
Thanks ameden.
Tried it again and this time it does show 3.22. I must have selected the wrong version in the drop down menu.

Good news!
Have a good Sunday
hi everyone - I am new to this, just purchased my first streamer (ND5 XS). Anyway it has ver 3.20 firmware on it - my question is: are the patches accumulative, do I need to apply ver 3.21 first, then 3.22 or just straight to 3.22?
thanks,
Dave.
Since you just bought it, if your dealer can support you, it's probably better for you to let the dealer install the patches for you this time around. It would be heartbreaking if your machine went to sleep in the middle of the install ...
